About

I am a communications professional with 21 years of experience in several industries, including health insurance, healthcare delivery, public and private education, publishing, and fundraising. I help organizations tell their stories, market their products and services, attract new business, promote their presence in the community, and educate customers. 

English language and literature are my first loves. I hold a BA in English from the University of Tulsa and an MA in English with a concentration in professional writing from the University of New Mexico. In the academic world, I wrote untold 20-page papers that dove deeply into poems, novels, short stories, and novellas. In my career, I've learned how to marry that type of scrutiny with the rapid pace of business communications. 

I thrive on structure, organization, processes, details, editing and proofreading, telling stories, collaborating with diverse and creative teams, grammar, punctuation, being easy to work with, and serving the customer.

In addition to writing and editing, I help organizations and individuals produce, polish, and refine their websites, social media, marketing, proposals, and everyday documents. I've worked at small startups and large, long-standing companies.
